Gedeb, Ethiopia

Danche

Our third Ethiopian coffee of the season comes to us from Danche station in Gedeb. Around 800 smallholder producers contribute cherry to the station, where lots are processed as washed, natural, honey, and experimental preparations. This washed coffee is juicy and tea-like, complex but approachable. We get layered acidity, florality, and nectar-like fruit, framed by light and crisp black tea tannins.

We’re happy to share a fresh round of Pink Bourbon from Faver Ninco and Finca Costa Rica, his farm in Central Huila. In the cup, we get a crisp profile with milder dark fruit acidity, sweet tropical flavors of mango and coconut, and a warming, malty finish.
