Daniel Caro Lopez (GREEN)

Daniel Caro Lopez is a 29 year-old second-generation producer who grows Chiroso on his farm, El Tambo, in Antioquia. Finca El Tambo sits at 2,200 masl, remarkable elevation for coffee production in Colombia, directly to the east of the more well-known producing town of Urrao. Daniel and his father originally planted Chiroso on a lower-elevation farm but didn’t break through with the variety until they planted it on El Tambo, whose higher elevation and cooler climates produce ideal growing conditions. This particular lot showcases Chiroso’s incredible potential: a juicy, tangy, and crisp profile with balanced acidity, a light tropical glaze, and layered complex fruit.
