Description

This is our second year carrying coffee from Casimiro Garcia and his family farm, El Aguacate, located in the town of San Agustin Loxicha, in the Sierra Sur region of southern Oaxaca. The producers in this remote region are mostly of the indigenous Zapotec tradition, and grow coffee alongside avocados to support themselves and the community. El Aguacate is a family operation, with Casimiro farming alongside his wife, Reyna, while his two older sons support with processing, agronomy, and marketing. They grow the Pluma variety, a local mutation of old-stock Typica that’s been in cultivation in the region for over 80 years. We taste sweet and syrupy red fruit, Macadamia, milk chocolate, and spiced citrus accents.
