Bookkisa - Washed Ethiopia

This is our third year buying Ture Waji’s natural and washed coffees from the kebele of Bookkisa, and another year they deliver stellar, nuanced-but-approachable representations of the Guji profile across the processing spectrum. Ture’s roots in Ethiopia — in Guji specifically — include years of overseeing production and managing farms. He founded his exporting company, Sookoo, with a focus on producing natural coffees, but has expanded in recent years to include washed coffees. This washed lot, from the Weessi washing station, is sparkling and structured with a gentle florality and notes of creamy lime and ripe berries.
