Alejandrina Maytan - Peru

This SL-9 lot from Alejandrina Maytan and her farm, Kukipata, is another stellar coffee from southern Peru. Located on the slopes of Mount Chogesafra in Cusco’s Inkawasi Valley, Kukipata sits on volcanic soil rich in minerals and organic material. Alejandrina grows SL-9, locally known as “Inca Gesha,” an Ethiopian legacy variety cultivated throughout the Inkawasi Valley and southern Peru. While the variety's complete genetic picture is still emerging, its floral, sparkling, and fruit-driven cup profile bears a resemblance to both Gesha and certain Ethiopian coffees. Alejandrina’s coffee is lively and aromatic, with layered fruit and florality and notes of rose, mango, and strawberry.
