Luis Felix Caicedo - Colombia

This is our second year buying Pink Bourbon from Luis Felix Caicedo, a 66 year-old producer from Huila in his fiftieth year of growing coffee, and we're thrilled to have his coffee back on the menu for another season. Luis Felix is based in San Agustin, where 2.8 hectares of his small 3 hectare farm, Los Eucaliptos, are planted with the Colombia and Pink Bourbon varieties. Tucked in the southwest corner of Huila, San Agustin produces some of the best coffee in all of Colombia — Pink Bourbon in particular — grown mostly by smallholder farmers like Luis Felix. This coffee is balanced, complex, subtly fruited, and long-arcing, with notes of dried dark fruit, herbal tea, and marzipan.
