Jasmine Myra - Rising

A few months ago, I happened into our bakery in the early evening to do one of my all-time favorite things—figure out where the water was leaking out of the dishwasher. The music selections being played by the bakers that evening were particularly good. When I asked baker Matt what we were listening to, he replied, “Just some nighttime jazz.” Upon further investigation, it turned out we were hearing this sweet Jasmine Myra record. I’ve never stopped thinking of it as “nighttime jazz,” which I believe makes it a perfect record for this month—the darkest of all months. Settle in, embrace the night, and enjoy the flutes!

Jingle Beans - Kenya and Ethiopia

Behold! A coffee is born. 'Tis the freaking season and what have you! Oh, Jingle Beans, oh Jingle Beans, our annual ho-li-day blend. Each year we go out of our way to make this blend as seasonally outlandish as we can. This year, two washed coffees — a floral Ethiopia and a citrusy Kenya — triumphantly coalesce into the best interpretation of drinkable fruit cake in a cup. Jingle Beans, Jingle Beans, Jingle all the beans.
