Collaborative Coffee Source
One of the best parts about sourcing coffee from Ethiopia is the sheer surplus of good coffee to choose from. Even though the harvest was delayed this year and quantities were down, the coffees are tasting better than ever. The same is true for this lot of Yabitu Koba from the Uraga area of the Guji Highlands. Uraga has some of the highest coffee growing in all of Ethiopia, which translates to some of the best possible qualities in the cup. The Hana Asrat washing station, owned by Feku Jebril, processes cherry from roughly 700 smallholder farmers around Yabitu Koba village. This particular selection was among the best washed coffees we tasted in Ethiopia this year, so we're super excited to share it with y'all.
In light of these strange COVID-19 times, we've made some changes to our roasting routine in an effort to take extra care. For the foreseeable future, roasting will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays only, shipping out Tuesdays and Thursdays. This means your order will arrive one day later than it normally would.
That one-day lag is caused by the decision to stagger roasting and bagging days in order to keep operations as safe and sanitized as humanly possible. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support during these challenging weeks.
All of our coffees are roasted to order and shipped as whole beans. Orders are roasted based on demand.
