Another year, another go around with Teshome Gemechu! This coffee has wowed us two years in a row now when we cupped in Addis Ababa at the SNAP coffee lab. This coffee is both the name of a washing station, and the name of the washing station's owner (keep an eye out for another washed coffee called Chelbesa that's also from the Teshome Gemechu mill). There's so much going on in this coffee that we don't often find in "typical" coffees from Ethiopia, as it has a sweet and savory aromatic complexity that reminds us of vibrant, warming spice blends. Once the coffee hits your tongue, there's no doubt that it hails from Guji with its bright acidity and incredible sweetness.
