Buena Vista is an absolutely stunning farm, nestled in the mountains of Antigua, Guatemala up at 1600-1950 masl; the views of Antigua’s volcanos from the highest peak of the farm are breathtaking. Buena Vista is owned by Luis Pedro Zelaya Aguirre who owns and runs the Zelcafe companies (including the Bella Vista wet and dry mill) with his son, Luis Pedro Zelaya Zamora. This farm is not only beautiful to visit but produces beautiful coffees too. With the support of farm managers Carlos Patal and Franklin Quiche, Luis Pedro is shooting for the highest quality production through agronomic experimentation and planting higher quality varietals. This year we found two lots on the table that knocked our socks off: one was 100% Villa Sarchi and one was 100% Bourbon. They were both so unique and soooooooooo sweet. We couldn’t pick between them, so we got both! First up we will be offering the Bourbon lot, which was delicate and balanced with notes of blueberries, vanilla syrup, and green tea with honey.
All of our coffees are roasted to order and shipped as whole beans. We roast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and ship out the following day. Orders are roasted based on demand. Thanks!
