Huehuetenango continues to be our favorite region in Guatemala. The coffees coming out of there are truly exceptional, year after year. Las Palomas is no exception. This coffee comes from a group of 9 farmers in the peaks around the San Pedro Necta area in Huehuetenango. The altitudes are among the highest in the area, which forces the harvest to happen somewhat later than in other parts of the country. This small group of farmers formed a connection to the Bella Vista mill team all the way in Antigua who helped them make improvements to their own processing mills on their land. The progress year to year has been exciting to see, and this year's coffee is absolutely delicious. Citric acidity, tropical fruit sweetness, all balanced out by a creamy nuttiness. It's just so good.
